Lisa Roberts Hurd

Lisa Roberts, MPhil., is a Culinary Nutritionist, Chef and Leader in Food as Medicine, specializing in anti-inflammatory eating and healing foods for PTSD and trauma. Her mission is to elevate physical, social and global health to a sacred level for all through a shared language of the heart: food. As Instructor of Culinary Nutrition at NYU’s Work Life Program and Stanford University’s BeWell Program for Faculty & Staff, she leads classes in the Departments of Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dermatology and many others.

Lisa partners and collaborates with leading organizations including Go Red for Women (American Heart Association), Canyon Ranch, Veronica Beard, SiO Beauty, NYC Department of Education and United Nations’ Global Leaders Academy, lululemon, Yelp, Soho House, Ohio Hospital Association, Stamford Health, Constellation Behavioral Health, Documenting Hope, Ellevate, Market Axess, and many others.

 

Lisa is a graduate of Oxford University (MPhil/MA), Tufts University (BA), and the French Culinary Institute.

 

Giving back to her community is a priority for Lisa. She serves as a mentor to multilingual high school students participating in the NYC Department of Education and United Nations’ Global Leaders Academy, and established a Cooking Around the World series for elementary school students in Connecticut. Both programs teach students how food reflects the diversity of cultures on our planet. She also mentors women who are in recovery from trauma, addiction, anxiety and depression, using food as medicine and lifestyle practices as the foundation for healing.

 

Lisa is the Author of NA Wine & Food, the industry’s first guide to nonalcoholic wine and food pairings.
